David Alejandro Ramirez Cajigas
I am civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia) and Master’s in Transportation, Territory, and Urbanism from Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain), where I delved into the comprehensive modeling and planning of various transportation systems (road, air, maritime, and rail). Currently a PhD candidate in Territory, Infrastructures, and Environment and a contracted researcher at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Spain. My solid track record ranges from civil works management and infrastructure project management to specialized software development (such as DGIS for urban and interurban accessibility analysis, and Productivos.org) and data engineering. My focus is on the forefront of mobility, including Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and the optimization of transportation systems with special attention to Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT/DART) and improving accessibility in diverse territorial contexts. I lead the application of big data and advanced tools (Python, MATLAB, ArcGIS, Docker, OSRM) for territorial analysis and the development of innovative solutions. Through this work, I aim to merge my practical engineering experience with cutting-edge research to generate a positive social impact and contribute to the digital transformation of the transportation sector.
